Babylon 5

Babylon 5

Babylon 5 has a unique relationship with the Internet. J. Michael Straczynski, creator of the show, spends a remarkable amount of time interacting directly with the fans (and critics) of his show through email and the newsgroup rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated.

Irrefutable evidence for this relationship showed up in the first-season episode, A Voice in the Wilderness, part 2. An Earth Alliance battleship named "Hyperion" appeared in this episode. The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 was originally hosted at hyperion.com. (By the way, the Lurker's Guide is the most complete, best organized archive of B5 info out there.) Here's a small shot of the ship; click on it to download the full-sized, 70KB JPEG file.

The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 was my initial reason for learning about the web and HTML.

Here's a whole page devoted to the lovely Russian 2nd-in-command, Susan Ivanova.
